Hard Builder Gel 101 and Application Guide

What is Builder In A Bottle Gel?
Hard Gel is a strong, long-lasting gel designed to add maximum structure and durability to nails. Unlike soak-off gels, Hard Gel must be filed off for removal. It’s perfect for overlays, sculpted extensions, and clients who want extra strength and support for longer nails.

Why Hana Gel Builder in a Bottle?
Our salon-grade hard gel is file-off only and provides superior strength compared to Builder In A Bottle. It's thicker consistency makes it ideal for building longer overlays, sculpted extensions, and durable nail repairs all while self-levelling for a smooth application.

Why You'll Love It:

  • Cures in 2 mins (UV) / 1 min (LED)
  • File-off only, stronger than soak-off gels
  • Superior strength – perfect for longer overlays & extensions
  • Self-levelling for smooth, even application
  • Minimal tacky layer – easy to refine and finish
  • HEMA-Free – gentle for sensitive clients
  • Vegan & Cruelty-Free

How to Use Hana Gel Hard Builder Gel

1️⃣ PREP

  • Push back cuticles
  • Lightly etch the nail plate using a 150–180 grit nail file or fine sanding band
  • Remove dust and cleanse with nail prep solution

2️⃣ BASE

  • Apply a thin layer of rubber base gel and cure
(Pro tip: this can double up on base coat!)

3️⃣ BUILD

  • Apply a slip layer with a rounded flat gel brush (do not cure)
  • With a small bead of builder gel, float and guide it over the nail to build your structure, use a liner brush to help guide product into sidewalls or refine around the cuticle area if needed
  • Allow it to self-level, then cure

4️⃣ REFINE

  • Cleanse the nail, then gently file to perfect the shape if needed

5️⃣ FINISH

  • Apply your gel colour or top coat and cure as usual
